Ejide Sodipo, Founder and Principal

Ejide Sodipo brings the firm a wealth of experience and expertise in the world of P&I Mutuals and ten years working with an internationally recognized leading UK Mutual management company. As a commercial and maritime litigator with 29 years of experience, she has represented clients in 400+ cases, including in the highest courts of Nigeria and securing victories at the Supreme Court of  Nigeria. In addition, she has represented members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, a group of 13 P&I Mutuals that collectively insure around 90% of the world's ocean-going tonnage.

Ejide holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from University College London (UCL), specializing in Commercial and Maritime Law. She has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of London, a Bachelor of Laws (BL) from Nigerian Law School, and a Certificate in P&I Insurance from the Skuld School in Oslo, Norway.

Professional affiliations include the Nigerian Bar Association, the Technical Committee on the Creation of a Nigerian Local P&I Mutual, and the sectoral working group for Finance, Insurance, and Legal services – Nigerian Consultative Forum, consultants to the Nigerian Content Development & Monitoring Board (NCDMB). Ejide has been a lecturer on Commercial Law at the University of Ibadan and was a panelist at the 7th Annual Business Law Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
